Kingdom Rule

The realms of society that within the church we refer to as “the world” (i.e where the evil spirits freely rule, dwell and multiply sin and disorder with abandonment), have always been ours to steward by the command of God. Education, arts, finance, commerce, philosophy, these and others were always intended to be under our stewardship by His authority.

Genesis 1:28

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

“Fill the earth and subdue it.” Subdue is a translation of the Hebrew word, “Kabas.” Pronounced “Kaw-bash.” The definition of which is to “to bring into subjection.”

A simple breakdown of this phrase renders the following elements: “Bringing into” implies an action that must occur to establish the goal. A goal that has not been met as of yet. In this case subjection. “Bringing into” requires action to make it so.

“Subjection” renders to “under the authority of someone or something else.”  Anything from parental authority to, fear of the lord would be examples of this. In this case the realm is “the earth” and the subjective rule would be God’s.

Our responsibility as men of the kingdom starts with us and our families. But extends to encompass all the earth. Made by God, ruled by men under the authority of God.

When we pray “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Be aware that, that prayer is not for God to wave his hand and make it so. It is a prayer to God for Him to lead us to take action to “subdue” this realm. Whatever the current state of our street, community, state, country, or world, the responsibility lives with us. Our prayer is for us to God for us to be actively bringing this realm under His subjection.
